At a glance
- Best forPeople who want the Pro camera system and ProMotion display and are buying from remaining stock rather than from Apple
- PricingLaunched at $1,099 (256GB). No current Apple price.
- PlatformiOS — shipped with iOS 26
- Key differentiatorThe same three-lens 48MP Pro camera layout and 6.3-inch ProMotion display as the iPhone 18 Pro, a generation earlier and no longer sold by Apple
Quick take
The full Pro camera set — three 48MP lenses with a 4x telephoto — and a 120Hz display, launched at $1,099. Against the 18 Pro you give up three hours of quoted video playback, the newer A20 Pro chip and the 2TB option, and Apple no longer sells it, so availability and price depend on whoever still has one.
Good fit if
- You want the 4x telephoto and the full 48MP Pro camera set without paying current-generation prices
- You want the same 6.3-inch 120Hz ProMotion display as the iPhone 18 Pro, a generation earlier
- You are buying from remaining retail stock and the price you are quoted is below $1,099
- You want 1TB of storage without stepping up to the newest Pro
Consider another option if
- You want the longer battery figure — the iPhone 18 Pro is quoted at 36 hours of video playback against 33
- You want the newest chip — the 18 Pro carries the A20 Pro with a 7-core GPU
- You need more than 1TB; the 18 Pro reaches 2TB
- You want to buy from Apple with Apple support and warranty terms, which this model no longer offers
- You do not use a telephoto lens — the iPhone 17 costs less and keeps the same 6.3-inch size
